Using iPhone 7 in 2019 - Is it still worth to buy iPhone 7 in 2019 and Use?
Apple's iPhone 7 was announced and released way back in September, 2016 and became one of the best selling iPhone by Apple. It's more than 2 years now since iPhone 7 was out to the consumer marker, so some of you might be wondering if it's still cool to use this great smartphone in 2019? Personally I myself am an iPhone 7 user, I got it way back in early 2017 and since then it has been my daily driver and primary smartphone. It's June, 2019 now and many new iPhones have released in the market, the new iPhone being iPhone XS & iPhone XS Max. But yeah, both iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max are really expensive phones.
Let's first talk about the basic specifications of this iPhone. This smartphone comes with 2gb of RAM, powered by A10 Fusion chip (processor). It comes with 12MP primary camera and 7MP front facing camera. It has an Apple Retina HD display with 4.7-inch LCD screen. It has 1960 mAh battery and Apple says it lasts 2 hours more than the iPhone 6S.
Obviously if you compare it to current generation iPhone models then iPhone 7 pretty aged. Personally the main concern I have about this iPhone is the battery. Not gonna lie but it's not good. The battery backup for me is terrible giving maximum screen usage time of like 4-5 hours only and that's on basic usage (not heavy). As my iPhone is already 2+ years old the battery's maximum capacity is only 75% to the original. So I get 25% less usage time than I did when it was first released. Well if you get a brand new iPhone then you will get a fresh battery but still many people complain about it's battery backup. Apart from battery issues I think this is one of the best iPhones ever made by apple. Even today it runs super smooth for me, currently running on iOS 12. I don't get any annoying issues while using the phone or with apps as they are pretty optimized. I still love it's camera and it takes amazing pictures. I have the Gold color version and I absolutely love its design. You don't have to worry much breaking your phone by falling it to the ground as it's body is made by aluminium unlike glass in new generation iPhones. In gaming terms, you can play the best iPhone games in this phone without thinking twice. But don't expect the highest gaming quality.
Many people didn't like when Apple removed headphone jack from the iPhone and well it's actually an issue for me too. I can't listen to music/use earphones while it is charging. I don't have wireless earphones or headphones. Also if you use third party earphones then you have to use it's dongle. Well since then many other smartphone companies have started making phones without headphone jack. If you use wireless earphones then it won't be much of an issue, especially AirPods. I also like the stereo speakers.
I have the 32gb storage model and storage issues happen with me. As it's an iPhone you can't use external storage chips. Apart from these things I think it's still cool to use iPhone 7 in 2019 if you can't afford the newer generation iPhones or just don't see the point.
If you can increase your budget a bit, you can buy Apple iPhone XR.
