What we know about iPhone 12 Series So Far!
What we know about iPhone 12 Series So Far! It is August 2020 now and we will get our hands on the new upcoming iPhone 12 quite soon. There have been a lot of rumors, predictions, and official news about the coming series of Apple iPhone smartphone lineup.
The latest news is that iPhone 12 will see a delay in launch this year and Apple won't launch it in September this time. This is officially confirmed by Apple CFO (Chief Financial Officer) Luca Maestri during an earnings call with the investors. He mentioned during the call that, "Last year, we started selling new iPhones in late September, this year, we expect supply to be available a few weeks later". There have been predictions before by several analysts that this year we will see delay in the launch of iPhone 12 series and it happened. Some said it is going to happen because of the ongoing Coronavirus Pandemic. It's true that this has effected the smartphone industry quite a lot this year. So yeah, we will most likely see the new iPhone 12 in the market early October or maybe mid-October.
Apple is expected to launch four iPhone models this year: iPhone 12 base model will have 5.4-inch screen and it is going to be the smallest iPhone model, Apple did this after a very long time. Then there will be two 6.1-inch models and a high end premium 6.7-inch model. All of them will support 5G. But some rumor says that Apple may also launch 4G model of iPhone 12 for the regions where 5G has not been introduced or will take 3-4 years to properly establish.
There has been another rumor that this time Apple has decided to lower the battery capacity or battery size of the new iPhones. This is kind of bad but maybe Apple has found a way to lower the capacity but also optimized them so greatly that they give great screen usage time. If you are an iPhone user or have been, you know that iPhones have actually pretty terrible battery life when compared to the Android smartphones. Let's see what really happens this time. Talking about the capacity in mAh: 2,227 mAh (Apple iPhone 12), 2,775 mAh (iPhone 12 Max), 2,815 mAh (iPhone 12 Pro) and 3,687 mAh (iPhone 12 Pro Max).
Apple is also reportedly ditching the 120Hz display in the new iPhone models. Earlier it was said that these new phones will have 120Hz display. So we will only have 60Hz refresh rate in the 2020 models.
About the pricing of the smartphones:
iPhone 12 having 5.4'' screen: $649
iPhone 12 having 6.1'' screen: $749
iPhone 12 Pro having 6.1'' screen: $999
iPhone 12 Pro having 6.7'' screen: $1099
These are the models with base storage capacity.
This year Apple is mainly focusing on their upcoming Apple A14 Processor on the iPhones and it will have 5 nm chip. This is one of the reasons why Apple has decided to lower their battery size capacity. It's going to be the fastest and most optimized processor on a smartphone ever.
Earlier it was rumored by many sources that 2020 iPhone models will feature 4 cameras on the back but it's not going to happen now. They will have triple cameras but with way better sensors and technology to make the photography and videography much better than the previous iPhones.
Another thing that is worth mentioning is that Apple is going to remove the chargers coming in iPhone boxes this year, that means they will no longer provide you a charger in the box and you will have to buy it externally. The reason behind this is to reduce the huge e-waste. Apple is not going to reduce the price because of that though.
